About James F. Giordano, MD

Dr. James Giordano is a board certified orthopaedic surgeon specializing in arthroscopic surgery of the shoulder, hip, knee, and ankle. He has particular interest in rotator cuff repair, shoulder labral repair, knee ACL and multiple ligament reconstruction, meniscus repair and transplant, cartilage repair and transplant, hip labral repair, shoulder replacement, and fracture fixation. He also focuses on non-operative management of injuries with exercise programs and injections.

Dr. Giordano graduated cum laude from the University of Notre Dame and attended Temple University School of Medicine where he was inducted into the Alpha Omega Alpha honor society. Dr. Giordano completed his orthopaedic training in New York City at Mount Sinai Roosevelt Hospital Center with subspecialty training at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center, Columbia Presbyterian Department of Bioengineering, CV Starr Hand Institute, and the A.I. Dupont Institute for Children. He acted at Chief Resident during his final year of training. Following his residency, Dr. Giordano then chose to pursue an additional year of training at the University of Southern California in Sports Medicine. He worked integrally as a team physician for the football team, women’s basketball team, and women’s soccer teams.  He also worked at the University of California Irvine Department of Biomedical Engineering in complex shoulder surgery research.

Prior to joining Ridgewood Orthopaedic Group, he treated patients in New York for five years and was awarded a “Top Doctor.” He practiced general Orthopaedic Surgery with a focus on Sports Medicine and fracture care.

Dr. Giordano enjoys spending time with his wife and son as well as playing tennis, skiing, and snowboarding.
